Brad Edwards Markel is an award winning professional photographer and cinematographer who has spent the last twenty five years shooting assignments around the world, flown aboard Air Force One with three different presidents, and covered White House assignments for magazines such Time, Newsweek, People, Life and Fortune. His photos have been published on the cover, as well as inside those magazines, and in nearly every major magazine in the world including National Geographic Traveler, Wilderness, Esquire, National Wildlife, Smithsonian, Stern, Paris Match, NY Times Magazine and countless others. He was the Cinematographer on the National Geographic Explorer film, America's Last Red Wolves, which aired September and November, 2003.
Within the wide variety of subjects he photographs, nature has always captured his heart. Markel has invested many years in the wild photographing natural history and he is now bringing these select groups of images out to the public.
He hopes his images of wild animals will help lead humans to value and protect the treasure of our animal world and scarce wilderness areas. His gentle, captivating photographs reflect the admiration and respect he has for 'wild life', and the sense of wonder and excitement it brings to our civilized lives.
